The 7010 Portable ILS/VOR Receiver
(PIR) is used by many of the world’s Civil Aviation Authorities and the USA 
Federal Aviation Administration, to
verify the safe limits of their radiated ILS and VOR signals. Thales ATM's reputation for

versatile PIR on the market today. This truly portable navigation signal analyzer provides
measurement capabilities for ILS localizers, glide slopes, marker beacons and CVOR/DVOR
signals. The comprehensive capabilities of the 7010 PIR eliminate the need for additional
navaid maintenance test equipment such as frequency counters, modulation meters, audio
distortion analyzers, audio spectrum analyzers, and VOR signal analyzers (ZIFORs). These
functions are all designed into the 7010 PIR. With all this power, versatility and

Design Features
- Measures DDM, SDM, % modulation, RF frequency, AF frequency, harmonic distortion,
and CVOR/DVOR azimuth.
- Analysis audio and spectral of a received signal.
- Measured data may be stored with a single keystroke and printed or saved to a computer
to be e-mailed or used for official site records and reports.
- It’s lightweight, weighing only ten pounds with the rechargeable batteries
installed.
- The included worldwide universal power supply can charge the batteries while it powers
the PIR from any 110 to 240 VAC power source.
- The 7010 PIR is user-friendly and the easy-to-use instructions are affixed to the inside
of the lid.
- The easy-to-carry hard shell carrying case is designed for convenience, easily holding
all its accessories, including the VHF and UHF antennas, cables, battery charger,
telescoping unipod, and a fixed 30 dB attenuator.
- Y2K Ready (software upgrade on older units is available).
- "CE Mark Certified".
Advanced Design
The design combines microcontroller-based architecture and digital signal processing
techniques to increase the measurement choices and accuracy over other portable devices.
Digital signal processing also eliminates much of the analog circuitry found in other
units, which means fewer components to degrade readings due to drift or failure.
User-friendly Display and Interface
We kept the user in mind when we designed the interface. The multi-function liquid
crystal display (LCD) and 16-digit sealed keypad provide easy operation. The LCD
simultaneously displays signal selections, type of measurement, measurement readings, and
units of measure.

(-010X, -020X and older -0300 units to the latest -0300 version)
To incorporate all hardware and software changes to units
produced prior to April 2001. Provide service life extension. Improve
performance, 4-year calibration cycle and Y2K compliance. Includes
state-of-the-art hardware and software updates to current production
configuration.
